Don Keats named as interim CEO of Eastern Health
Keats' role is effective May 5
Eastern Health Board of Trustees Chair Michael O'Keefe has announced the appointment of Don Keats as interim leader to replace outgoing president and CEO Vickie Kaminski.
Kaminski announced on March 14 that she will assume a position as president and CEO of Alberta Health Services in June.
In a news release issued on Thursday, O'Keefe said Keats will take over the role effective May 5.
He will serve in the interim while the search firm Four Corners Group looks for a permanent replacement.
Keats has extensive experience in the health sector. He is a former deputy minister of health and community services, and has served as CEO of three former health care boards in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Eastern Health said the executive search is expected to take about four months.
