Diesel, furnace oil up by just over 3 cents
Fuel prices across Newfoundland and Labrador climbed Thursday morning, with furnace owners likely to feel the pinch.
Furnace oil costs jumped by 3.3 cents per litre, with stove oil rising the same amount.
The increase was included in the weekly price setting from the Public Utilities Board, which regulates fuel prices.
The cost of diesel was raised by as much as 3.6 cents per litre, with prices varying across the province.
The increase in gas was less substantial, with prices up as much as 1.3 cents a litre.
The new setting means that retailers on the Avalon Peninsula, where prices are cheapest, can now charge as much as $1.327 for a litre of self-serve unleaded gas.
