Crouching pair sought in connection with Kilbride car fire
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is on the lookout for two people seen squatting near a vehicle just before it was set on fire two weeks ago in St. John's.
The fire broke out around 2 a.m. on April 18 in the Kilbride area of the city.
Police said one vehicle was set on fire on Griffins Lane, and the flames spread quickly to another vehicle nearby.
"Two males were seen crouched down in front of the first vehicle prior to the start of the fire and fled the scene once the fire was started," the RNC said in a statement.
Police added, "Witnesses to the incident were unable to provide a description of the two individuals."
The RNC asked anyone with information to contact police directly or go through the anonymous Crime Stoppers service at 1-800-222-8477.
