Marine Atlantic is still juggling sailings to make up for a ferry out of service, and passengers can continue to expect delays.
Spokesperson Darrell Mercer said customers can expect delays between one and three hours over the next several days. He said the company is encouraging people to check the status of their bookings online.
"Because of these high call volumes there's been a significant wait for a number of customers and we recognize it's been a frustrating exercise for some people," said Mercer. "What we've asked our customers to do is to check our website."
The MV Highlanders has a generator problem and is not running.
Some delays on Friday stretched to nearly 12 hours.
Mercer said weather on Friday evening compounded the fleet's problems.
"On top of the generator issue, the MV Highlanders experienced, and the service interruption from that vehicle, we also experienced a weather delay in Port aux Basque last evening that were affecting two of our vessels," said Mercer.
"Both vessels were forced to wait outside of the harbour until winds died off, and that didn't take place until 9:30 p.m. last night, so that's had a further delay on our schedule," he added.
