More than four million dollars will be pumped into Corner Brook to boost its infrastructure.
Three million of it is coming from the province. The city of Corner Brook is covering the rest.
The money will be used to fix roads, spruce up the Pepsi Centre, and $850, 000 has been pledged to build a new recreation centre.
The main tenant of the new centre will be Saltos Gymnastic Club.
"We think it's the best day we've ever had," said club president Denise May.
"We've been after this from the time I was a gymnast, which was many years ago, so we've been after this probably since the 80s."
No word yet on when construction will begin on the facilities.
