A 23-year-old Corner Brook man has been charged with dangerous driving causing death.
Kyle Butt, 20, died after the car he was a passenger in went over an embankment early on Monday morning.
The vehicle was heading west on Griffin Drive when the driver lost control and the vehicle rolled over an embankment. The car came to rest on its roof.
On Friday, Shane Gregory Anstey was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.
The driver and a female passenger were also injured in the crash.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary continues to investigate the incident. It appears speed was a contributing factor, according to the news release.
The accused appeared in court Friday afternoon and was released on a number of conditions.
Anstey also had to surrender his licence.
He will be back in court in November..
