Being charged Thursday morning with having stolen property didn't stop a St. John's man from being picked up just three hours later at the same scene.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said the man, 28, was arrested shortly after 10 a.m. in the central area of the city on a charge of possession of stolen property.
Police said a dog unit was used to make that arrest.
The man was released from custody with an order to appear in provincial court at a later date.
By 1 p.m., police said, the man had returned to the scene and obstructed officers who were still conducting their investigation.
The man was taken to the lockup and held overnight for an appearance Friday in provincial court.
