Controversial propane tank installed at St. John's harbour
A 10-metre-high propane tank that sparked a debate about the St. John's harbourfront late last year has been installed by two restaurants that will soon open.
The tank was placed on the west side of the existing Keg restaurant and close to the two new eateries, Legros and Motti, a locally owned French-Italian restaurant, as well as a Jack Astor's franchise.
The tank came in for criticism for its height, as well as the fact that the developer did not include it in the application to build the two new restaurants. The tank is replacing a series of smaller tanks that the Keg currently uses.
To make it more aesthetically pleasing, the tank has been covered with a mural depicting historical photos.
