Construction has started at the site of the new hospital on the island's west coast.
Work on the long-delayed project in Corner Brook got underway this week.
The province awarded $17 million-worth of contracts on July 10 to get the construction of the hospital back on track.
Crews are excavating and grading the site, in preparation of where the five-structure health centre will be built.
Another company is installing an underground concrete reservoir.
The hospital is expected to be completed by 2019.
