Codroy Valley cats may have been shot with pellet gun
RCMP have appealed for public tips on a complaint of animal cruelty on Newfoundland's southwest coast.
RCMP said a resident of Loch Lomond in the Codroy Valley reported that someone appeared to have shot three of her cats with a pellet gun.
"Two of the cats were shot in the paw and the third was shot in the neck area," RCMP said in a statement.
RCMP are investigating possible breaches of the Criminal Code of Canada as well as provincial animal health legislation.
Police are asking anyone with information on the case to contact the RCMP's detachment in Port aux Basques or the anonymous Crime Stoppers service.
