Drugs seized in New-Wes-Valley

The RCMP in New-Wes-Valley, on Newfoundland's east coast, made a drug bust on Saturday.

Police received a complaint in the afternoon from a citizen who reported a man asleep in a vehicle outside a local business.

Officers on patrol discovered $12,000 worth of cocaine, a quantity of marijuana valued at $400 and $3,000 cash.  

A 21-year-old man of no fixed address was held and is scheduled to make an appearance in provincial court on Sunday.

The accused is facing two charges of trafficking in a controlled substance and one charge for breaching a court order.
