Clarenville student Jon Pardy wins Big Brother competition
Jon Pardy, a Newfoundlander who played up his affable personality on Big Brother Canada, won the reality TV show's second series on Thursday night.
Pardy, 23, edged out final competitors Neda Kalantar and Sabrina Abbate to win the competition, which is broadcast on the Slice specialty channel.
Pardy, a Clarenville student who introduced competitors to local expressions like "whadd'ya at?" during the series, made a move against Kalantar, his closest friend on the series, to set himself up for the finale. Pardy said the move was strategic, as Abbate had often placed in the bottom during the show's run.
Pardy wins $100,000 as well as other prizes.
