The Clarenville Caribous have won their first game at the Allan Cup senior men's hockey championship in Dundas, Ont., as the team seeks a second national victory.

The Caribous scored four times in the third period en route to a 5-2 win Tuesday over the Kenora Thistles.

Their next game is Wednesday afternoon against the Brantford Blast.

A win would guarantee Clarenville first place in their division.

The championship game is set for Saturday.

The Caribous won the Allan Cup in 2011, and will be hosting the national tournament next year.
