A central Newfoundland man has been arrested following a month-long investigation by the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary's Child Exploitation Unit.

The RNC and RCMP searched a home in central Newfoundland on Tuesday. Police did not say where.

A computer system and several storage devices were taken as evidence.

The investigation began one month ago, when the RNC received information about someone possessing and distributing child pornography over the internet.

A 32-year-old man was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography and with making available or distributing child pornography.

He was held in custody to appear in provincial court on Tuesday in Gander.
