Chest pains trigger medevac for trawler worker
A 57-year-old fisherman was airlifted to St. John's early Tuesday morning after he suddenly became ill.
The man was on board a Canadian trawler about 460 km southeast of St. John's.
The Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre in Halifax received a call at 11 p.m. that the man was having chest pains.
A crew on a Cormorant helicopter picked him up from the trawler and flew him to the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's.
Officials said he was doing OK.
