CBC Radio One’s Weekend AM knows Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are Canada’s best storytellers. We want to tap into that with an open source storytelling project called #NLwrites to celebrate Canada Reads 2014.

The story will be launched on Weekend AM Jan. 4 by Canada Reads 2014 contender Kathleen Winter. Every day, a new, well-known N.L. writer will add a new tweet to the twitter-based story using the hashtag #NLwrites.

Listeners can jump in at any time and add to the story with their own tweets taking the story in a fresh, new direction. The tweets will be moderated so the story has a flow. Keep coming back to this page to ensure your tweet follows the flow. Each week in January and February — Weekend AM will give away a Kobo to one of the #NLwrites tweeters.

The Twitter story will continue until noon on Feb. 27.

You must tweet using #NLwrites to win. The story as it unfolds will appear below.
