CBC NL wins best reporting screen award for biker investigation
The team behind CBC Newfoundland and Labrador's Inside Operation Roadrunner took home a Canadian Screen Award for best local reportage.
It was one of 47 trophies handed out by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television in Toronto on Tuesday night.
CBC's David Cochrane and Paul Pickett were the duo behind the award-winning coverage of one of the largest drug operations in the province's history.
"The Canadian Screen Award is a tremendous honour. Roadrunner was a special story and one of the best things I've done in my career," said Cochrane.
"Paul was a tremendous collaborator. His editing skills are what made the series so special and the single biggest reason we won."
In May, the investigative piece took home the silver medal for enterprise reporting at the Atlantic Journalism Awards. Kathryn King, Peter Gosse, and Cochrane also nabbed the top prize for best multimedia feature.
