Cathy Bennett's 40-vote win confirmed by official count
Danny Breen not requesting a recount
The official vote count for the Virginia Waters byelection confirms a win by Liberal Cathy Bennett of 40 votes.
The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer released the numbers Saturday morning.
Progressive Conservative candidate Danny Breen sent out a news release on Saturday saying that he would not be seeking a recount.
Numbers released match up with the totals from election night on Wednesday.
Liberal Cathy Bennett took 1,932 votes, winning by 40 votes over Progressive Conservative Danny Breen, who had 1,892 votes.
NDP candidate Sheilagh O'Leary finished with 1,021 votes.
