Police are looking for someone who held up on a gas station late Monday night on one of the busiest streets in St. John's, as well as the suspect who tried to hold up a store several hours earlier.
In both cases, the suspect's face was covered, although the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary believe a man was behind each crime.
Around 6:30 p.m., someone tried to hold up City Superette on Pleasant Street, in downtown St. John's. The would-be thief did not get away with anything.
At 11:40 p.m., the Ultramar gas station on Kenmount Road was robbed. The RNC said an undisclosed amount of cash was taken.
The police are not commenting on the weapons that were used in each case.
