Cars impounded as police halt 2 St. John's drivers
Police in St. John's impounded two vehicles in separate incidents on Thursday, with both involving illegal drivers.
In the first case, police halted a driver on Prince Philip Drive around 8:45 a.m. The 23-year-old man at the wheel had an expired licence and no insurance on his vehicle.
The driver was issued tickets and the car was towed away.
On Thursday night after 10 p.m., the RNC stopped a car on Patrick Street, near downtown St. John's. A man, 28, faces charges of driving with neither a licence nor insurance, as well as operating an unregistered vehicle.
The car also had the wrong stickers attached, and the driver is also charged with failing to transfer ownership.
