Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP are investigating a report of careless use of a firearm near Mealy Mountain Collegiate early Monday evening.

Police received a complaint around 9:10 p.m. when three adults were walking on the southeast side of the building.

One of the individuals reported a rush of air pass by her. All three people said they simultaneously heard an impact on the side of the building.

The people approached three youths spotted in the nearby skate park. Two of the youths fled the scene while one other remained and spoke to the women briefly before leaving.

Police arrived at the scene, but were unable to locate the three youths.

The RCMP is asking the public for assistance in identifying the three individuals, all described between the ages of 13 and 17.

  • Suspect 1: Described as having a thin build with broad shoulders, light brown or blonde hair, cut short similar to a crew cut. Light coloured backpack.
  • Suspect 2: Described as bring shorter in height and was wearing a dark coat.
  • Suspect 3: Reportedly had a brush cut, dark clothing and was riding a red or orange mountain bike.

The RCMP is asking the youths to turn themselves in to police and provide an explanation about what happened.
