A woman got a shock while sitting in her living room Sunday evening, when a vehicle crashed into the corner of her St. John's home.

According to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, the woman was alone when a Toyota Camry hit the house.

Const. Geoff Higdon said the woman inside the home, as well as a passenger in the vehicle, were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver was taken to hospital with what police said are significant injuries.

Higdon said the vehicle was headed north on Albany Street and was attempting to make a right turn east onto Blackmarsh Road, but was unable to make the turn and collided with the home.

The incident is still under investigation.
