Campbellton man faces impaired driving charges
A man from a Notre Dame Bay town is facing a charge of impaired driving after landing his vehicle in a ditch in a nearby community.
Lewisporte RCMP received a call Tuesday night about a possible impaired driver in Campbellton. Soon after, they located the vehicle in a ditch in Michael's Harbour.
Police said they also located the two people who had been in the vehicle and took the driver to the detachment for a breathalyzer test.
The male driver, 54, blew twice the legal limit.
In addition to his impaired offence, he's been charged with driving while suspended and operating a vehicle without valid insurance.
The man was released from custody and will appear in Gander provincial court in May.
