A Stephenville fire alarm led to two arrests Tuesday

The RCMP say a burning pizza led them to stolen property in Stephenville.

A smoke alarm went off at six-storey building in the western Newfoundland community just before 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police say they found more than just the source of the smoke when they entered an apartment at the Stephenville Manor.

Officers say they recognized items that had been stolen from a Stephenville business in the apartment.

Two men, aged 19 and 21 were, arrested for possession of stolen property.

Police wouldn't say what items they found, but they did say the original owner will be getting them back.
