Brutal attack by masked men at St. John's bank
Masked robbers savagely attacked a man making a late-night deposit at a bank in St. John's early Monday.
The man, 62, suffered a broken arm and a head injury when one of the robbers beat him with a baseball bat.
Police said later Monday that the man was treated in hospital and released.
Police said two men wearing dark clothing and ski masks attacked the man shortly after midnight at the Churchill Square branch of the CIBC.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary searched the area with a dog but did not find the men.
The RNC are not disclosing how much money was taken and said they did not know whether the man was making a personal or commercial deposit.
