The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has charged a 34-year-old man following an early morning break and enter on Saturday at a business on Kelsey Drive in St. John's.
When police arrived at the scene, a suspicious vehicle left the area and proceeded west on Kenmount Road.
The vehicle was stolen, and the driver didn't stop for police.
He then abandoned the vehicle on Topsail Road.
Police were able to locate the man in Mount Pearl, after recruiting the RNC's K-9 unit.
The man was charged with flight from police, break and entry, possession of stolen property, dangerous driving and mischief.
He was detained at the lockup for a court appearance on Saturday morning.
Impaired driving suspected in vehicle accident
Meanwhile, the RNC is investigating a vehicle accident that happened around 4:15 a.m. Saturday on Prince Philip Drive.
Police said the vehicle collided with a light pole in the intersection of the parkway and an entrance to the Health Sciences Centre.
The 43-year-old male driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
According to police, he is suspected of impaired driving.
