Police are looking for a man who went to some lengths but ultimately failed to steal an automated bank machine in Whitbourne this week.
RCMP said an alarm was triggered at Foodland in Whitbourne at 10:37 p.m. on Sunday.
When officers arrived on the scene, the door had been smashed in and an ATM was damaged.
Surveillance video shows a man using a crowbar to try to pry the ATM from the floor.
When that didn't work, the man tried to break open the machine - also in vain.
RCMP described the suspect as "a stocky male, wearing dark clothing and a balaclava/ski mask."
After abandoning the robbery attempt, the man got into an older-model pickup truck that pulled up to the door. The truck was later seen heading to the highway.
Police are appealing to the public for any tips about the case. Information can be given directly to the RCMP's detachment in Whitbourne or to the anonymous Crime Stoppers line at 1-800-222-8477.
