Three men were sent to hospital after a small speed boat ran aground Friday night about 10 kilometres north of Lewisporte.
Police say the crash happened around 10:30 p.m. in an area known as Shoal Tickles, near Birchy Island.
All of the three people who were in the boat were airlifted to hospital in Gander aboard a search and rescue Cormorant helicopter.
Two of them were treated for minor injuries and later released.
The third, who was driving the boat, sustained more serious injuries and remains in hospital in stable condition.
The boat they were in was severely damaged when it hit the shoreline.
The RCMP and Transport Canada officials are investigating.
