Bell Island RCMP are investigating what they say appears to be a suspicious shed fire.

Police and the Wabana Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire early Thursday morning.

The shed and its contents were completely destroyed in the blaze.

In a statement, RCMP said, "Foul play is expected."

Anyone with information about the fire is asked to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

This is the latest in a string of suspicious fires on Bell Island.

In December, a man whose truck was destroyed by arson told CBC News people in the community were afraid to speak out about a series of fires.

At the time, the Bell Island RCMP said the number of fires was concerning, but in terms of crime, overall numbers are on par with the last five years.
