Bear spray suspected in St. John's incident
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to an incident involving bear spray early Saturday morning in the east end of St. John's.
Police said a "large number of youths" were involved in an altercation at a residence.
The RNC suspect bear spray was used during the incident.
No arrests have been made, and the matter is still under investigation.
Driver caught on cell, car impounded
Meanwhile, RNC pulled over a suspended driver who was talking on his cellphone on Friday.
Police pulled over the driver on Symonds Ave. and impounded his vehicle.
He was issued tickets for using a hand-held device while driving, driving while suspended, failing to transfer ownership, and operating without valid. insurance.
Threats lead to arrest
Officers arrested a man in Seal Cove on Friday, following a report of threats.
The man, 46, was charged with uttering threats to cause death and assault with a weapon.
Police detained the man to appear in court.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
