Bay Roberts man charged with drunk driving after crash
RCMP in Trinity-Conception have charged a Bay Roberts man with impaired driving causing bodily harm, following an early morning crash.
Police were called to Badcock Boulevard around 2:30 a.m. Thursday where they found an empty vehicle.
A short time later, officers found an injured woman, who was a passenger in the vehicle.
The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but police said they are not believed to be life-threatening.
Officers located and arrested the driver, 29, a short time later.
He is scheduled to make an appearance Thursday in provincial court.
In addition to the impaired driving offence, the accused is charged with damaging property and taking a vehicle without the owner's consent.
