The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is seeking the public's help in connection with two late-night armed robberies in St. John's that occurred within 10 minutes of each other.

The first incident happened at about 11:45 p.m. Wednesday at Jackman and Greene on Cookstown Road.

The male suspect was armed with a knife, and escaped with a quantity of cash. He is described as being about six feet tall, between 160 and 180 pounds, and was wearing a red sweater-shirt. Police said the suspect also had his face concealed.

Around midnight, the RNC were alerted to a similar scenario, where a masked man armed with a knife held up Marie's Mini Mart on Blackmarsh Road.

In that case, a man wearing a light blue T-shirt, and described as five feet ten with a slim build, got away with cash.

Police called in a forensics team as well as the K-9 unit to assist in both cases.

There were no injuries in either of the incidents.
