A man arrested on an attempted murder charge last week has been released and had his charges withdrawn from court.
Thomas Kavanagh, 54, was arrested July 12 after a report of a stabbing in Port aux Basques.
RCMP said a man had apparent stab wounds and was taken to hospital.
However, police said Monday that the charges against Kavanagh have been withdrawn.
The complainant, a 39-year-old man, has been arrested.
He's been charged with public mischief and was released on conditions to appear in court at a later date.
RCMP said their investigation is ongoing.
