Assault, forcible confinement charges against Corner Brook man
Police in Corner Brook have arrested and charged a 65-year-old man in relation to an assault complaint that was made last month.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said an incident occurred on July 12, where it was alleged that the victim, a 53-year-old woman, was prevented by the accused from leaving a residence.
Police said both parties were known to one another, and the victim sustained what were believed to be non-life threatening injuries as a result of the incident.
The man, who is a resident of Corner Brook, has been charged with assault and forcible confinement.
He was released from custody and is scheduled to to make an appearance in provincial court on Sept. 23.
