Arrests made in St. John's armed robbery

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has made two arrests in connection with an armed robbery that took place at a St. John's gas station three weeks ago.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has made two arrests in connection with an armed robbery that took place in St. John's three weeks ago.

The holdup occurred around 5 a.m. on April 6 at the Ultramar gas station and convenience store on Elizabeth Avenue.

The suspects demanded cash, and before fleeing the scene on foot, grabbed a quantity of cigarettes and lotto tickets. 

On Friday, the RNC arrested a man and a woman, both 22, without incident.

The man has been charged with armed robbery, wearing a disguise, possession of a dangerous weapon and breaching a court order.

The woman was charged with possessing stolen property.

Police have not released information regarding the type of weapon used.
