Arrests made in child luring investigation
Police say allegations stem from several young people who may have been propositioned
A man and a woman from Glovertown have been charged with child luring.
RCMP say the man, 35, and the woman, 22, were arrested Thursday at a home in the eastern Newfoundland town.
Police say they're investigating allegations from several young people who may have been propositioned by the pair, through computers or other electronic means.
The RCMP said the man has been charged with six counts of child luring and invitation to sexual touching, while the woman faces four charges. The man was also charged with one count of assault and one count of sexual assault.
The pair were released from custody on several conditions, and will be back in court on Dec. 3.
Police say the case is still under investigation and more charges are being considered.
The RCMP are also looking for other possible victims. They add anyone with similar complaints of being contacting inappropriately in the Glovertown area should contact police immediately.
