An arrest warrant has been issued for a man who has been missing from St. John's for more than two weeks.
Joshua Richard Whalen has not been seen since Aug. 15, and failed to show for a provincial court appearance on Friday.
Court documents state that Whalen, 26, was charged with two counts of breaching his probation and one count of carrying a concealed weapon, which was a knife, on July 12.
Whalen was previously convicted of carrying a loaded 9-mm Beretta, stun gun and body armour near the Avalon Mall in 2009, for which he served time in a federal prison.
He also made headlines in 2012 when he escaped his Correctional Service of Canada escort at the Greater Moncton International Airport during a transfer from prison in New Brunswick to a halfway house in St. John's.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary's major crime unit is appealing to the public for information on his disappearance.
Whalen is described as being 5'8", 170 lbs, with short blonde hair and blue eyes.
He was last seen on Anspach Street in the west end of St. John's.
