A 32-year-old man is accused of threatening to blow up a school on Newfoundland's west coast.
Police say the man was speaking with students Tuesday near G.C. Rowe Junior High School in Corner Brook, when he allegedly told them there was a bomb in the building.
The students reported the incident to school staff, who then called police.
RNC Const. Scott Mosher said officers aided by a police dog quickly searched the school, but found no evidence of a bomb.
"We had identified a person of interest relatively quickly, based on the information and description of the person in question," said Mosher.
"The person was located earlier [Tuesday] morning, arrested, and is currently in custody."
The man is scheduled to appear in court in Corner Brook on Wednesday.
His name was not released.
