Arrest made in early morning pharmacy break-in
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has arrested and charged a 36-year-old man in connection with a break and enter at a pharmacy in the east end of St. John's.
At 3:15 a.m. Thursday, RNC officers responded to a report of a suspicious person in the area of Portugal Cove Road and Higgins Line. Police said the man had his face covered and was hiding by a nearby gas station.
Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that a break and enter had occurred at Family Drug Mart on Portugal Cove Road.
The accused, who is from St. John's, was charged with possession of break and enter tools, break and enter, as well as breaches of a court order.
He was held to make an appearance in provincial court.
