Armed robbery at St. John's pharmacy

An armed robbery took place at a pharmacy in central St. John's on Friday evening.

Police are looking for a suspect involved in an armed robbery that took place in central St. John's on Friday evening.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said a man entered Lawton's Drugs on Campbell Avenue around 6 p.m. and demanded drugs.

The suspect fled the scene on foot in the direction of LeMarchant Road.

He is described as being between five feet 10 inches and six feet tall, with a pale complexion and strawberry blonde hair.

The man was wearing dark clothing with a black hood up. His face was concealed by red sunglasses and a plaid scarf.

There was no word on what weapon was used in the robbery.
