For the second night in a row, police in Corner Brook have had to deal with a drunk man making a ruckus and trying to get into the wrong house.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said a couple of senior citizens in the Concord Avenue area woke around 2 a.m. Thursday to banging and shouting at their front door.

"Upon arrival the officers found a lone male lying down on the front steps, intoxicated," the RNC said in a statement.

Police said the man, 25, was several kilometres from where he thought he was.

As well, police found that he was under a court order to refrain from using alcohol. He was held for the rest of the night at the police lockup.

Police said the two seniors were frightened during the encounter, but were not injured.

A day earlier, police dealt with a similar incident on Humber Road, when a group of men banged on the wrong door and demanded to be let inside. A man was taken to the lockup in that case so that he could sober up.
