A woman who was wanted in connection with a string of recent armed robberies on the Northeast Avalon was arrested on Saturday without incident — and made an appearance in provincial court on Sunday morning.

According to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, Alexandra Faye Gough, 18, was apprehended around 3:30 p.m. in the central part of St. John's. 

Gough will be held in the police lockup overnight for a bail hearing on Monday.

Police said Gough was wanted on three counts of armed robbery, three counts of possession of a weapon and breaches of a court order.

According to the courts, Gough used a knife during the three armed robberies.

Two of the armed robberies occurred in St. John's, the other in Paradise.
