Accused murderer Kenny Green has been granted bail.

Green, 35, is alleged to have beaten Joey Whalen in March 2013, in what neighbours described as a drug house on Tessier Place, in downtown St. John's.

In court on Friday, Green was released on $55,000 bail, with conditions.

Green has been ordered to sign in with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary seven days a week.

He must live with his mother, has a curfew, and must stay within 100 kilometres of St. John's.

On Monday, Green pleaded not guilty to the beating death of Whalen, 47.
