That’s a wrap — filming for the coming-of-age story Hold Fast is now in the can.
The film was shot entirely on the island of Newfoundland, with locations from the metro St. John’s area to Gros Morne National Park on the west coast.
"I love Newfoundland," lead actress Molly Parker said in a statement. "Being able to share the screen with authentic, young talent was so inspiring. The place is full of moving and creative people."
Hold Fast is based on the award-winning novel published 35 years ago by Newfoundland author Kevin Major.
Co-producer and screenwriter Rosemary House says the adventure story stands up to the test of time.
"This book has sold over 250,000 copies, which is an incredible testament to its impact on young people for generations," House said.
Newfoundlander Andy Jones co-stars. Local filmmaker Justin Simms is the director.
