Four people were injured Thursday evening during a serious collision involving two cars and a transport truck in central Newfoundland.

The collision happened just before 6 p.m. on the Trans-Canada Highway, near the exit to Twillingate. 

One of the vehicles involved in the crash landed on its roof in a ditch by the side of the highway. 

Four people, who had been in one of the vehicles, were rushed to hospital.

There was no immediate word on the status of their injuries.
