Provincial softball team takes top spot at P.E.I. tournament

After almost not making it to the national championship, the 3 Cheers Pub senior men's softball team has once again walked away the winners at the Senior & Master Men's Canadian Fastpitch Championships

On Sunday the team beat out the Kelly's Pub Bulldogs in what ended up being the all Newfoundland and Labrador final at the tourney held in Prince Edward Island.

3 Cheers Pub defeated the Kelly's Pub Bulldogs 8-1 in the final.

However, 3 Cheers Pub almost never made it to the tournament.

WestJet was forced to cancel their flight last Monday due to mechanical problems.

After some delay and rescheduling WestJet were able to get the team there and on the field on time.

3 Cheers Pub are now the three-time consecutive defending champions.
