12-year-old boy airlifted following accident in Labrador City

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says a 12-year-old boy is in critical but stable condition following an accident at an intersection in Labrador City.

A 12-year-old boy is being airlifted from Wabush into St. John's, following an accident Wednesday in Labrador City. 

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said the accident happened around noon, and involved a bike and a pickup truck.

Police said the boy was riding a pedal bicycle when he was hit by the truck at the Bartlett Drive and Tamarack Drive intersection in the town. 

The RNC said the child was listed to be in critical, but stable condition.

Police have requested the public's help, and ask that anyone who witnessed the accident to contact them.

The RNC have since closed the intersection while the accident is under investigation.
