Woman killed in motorcycle crash near Hillsborough

Shenstone's Belinda Myers died after a motorcycle crash on Sunday near Hillsborough.

RCMP are still investigating the cause of the crash

A 49-year-old woman died in a motorcycle crash on Sunday evening near Hillsborough.

The RCMP say Belinda Myers, of Shenstone, died in hospital as a result of her injuries sustained in the accident off of Route 910.

She was the only person on the motorcycle when it left the road and crashed into the woods in Osborne Corner, south of Moncton, said Cpl. Daniel Poirier.

The police were called to the scene at around 6 p.m., he said.

The cause of the accident is unknown, said Poirier.

"We're continuing the investigation right now as far as doing a mechanical on the motorcycle and … the coroner's office has been involved and they're going to be investigating the medical side," he said.

Neither speed nor alcohol appear to be factors in the crash, he added.
