Fredericton police say they arrested the woman on Thursday, following a thorough investigation.

Fredericton police have arrested a 24-year-old Oromocto woman in connection with a hit-and-run involving two pedestrians on New Year's Day.

The woman, who was arrested on Thursday, is expected to appear in court in February to face a charge of leaving the scene of an accident causing bodily harm, police said in a statement.

Two pedestrians were struck at the intersection of Brunswick and York streets at about 3:15 a.m. on Jan. 1.

The male victim remains in hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries, police said in the statement, released on Friday morning.

The female victim has since been released from hospital.
