Two men in Saint John are facing drug charges after their truck, with a load of marijuana on the back, flipped over in the east side of the city.
It happened at around 5:30 Saturday evening at the corner of Barnsville Road and St. Martin's Road. When police arrived at the scene they found about 100 freshly cut marijuana plants that had been covered over by a tarp on the back of the truck.
It was raining heavily at the time of the crash.
"At the time of the accident the road was very wet and there was heavy rain," said Sgt. Ron Cooper of Saint John Police. "He may have become confused when he approached the intersection and lost control of his vehicle."
Cooper says there were two men in the truck, one of the men is from Quebec, the other is from Saint John. Neither man was hurt. They face charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
